Indigenous Wellness Mutual Aid Fund
As part of our efforts to support Indigenous peoples, VFH has established an 'Indigenous Wellness Mutual Aid Fund'. The fund consists of microgrants that are distributed to any person who identifies as Indigenous (First Nations, Métis, or Inuit). There are no other eligibility requirements. Contact us for more details and stay tuned for our upcoming funding cycle.
"Joy is Revolutionary"
A story series aimed at highlighting the different ways that folks from marginalized backgrounds find joy during challenging times such as the COVID-19 pandemic.
Frontline Healthcare Workers' Wellness and Appreciation Project
In March 2021, VFH began to break ground on our Frontline Healthcare Workers' Wellness and Appreciation Project. Seven in ten healthcare workers reported worsening mental health during the life-altering COVID-19 pandemic. In partnership with the Duke of Edinburgh, VFH was able to donate 1000 wellness and self-care products + meals to frontline healthcare workers at Surrey Memorial Hospital.
Every Monday, VFH spotlights local Canadian mental health and substance use resources that are focused on helping historically excluded groups such as BIPOC, LGBTQ2IA+, religious minorities, immigrants, and refugees. Keep up with us on Instagram and Facebook for Resource Monday's.
